Creative Kids Fair is a collaboration between children’s author/ illustrator Gloria Day and FreeThoughtWriting that teaches and encourages underserved youth to tap into their own creativity using literacy, arts & crafts, and meditation. We’re hosting our inaugural Creative Kids Fair on December 19th at Exposition Public Library. We are expecting between 50 and 75 children and family members of varying ages at our event that will culminate with the authors reading excerpts from their books. Along with literacy, this event will demonstrate various types of creative arts such as jewelry making, poetry writing, comic book illustration and map making. We believe that when a person’s mind is clear and body is well they can focus better and use their imagination, which is why children will also be able to participate in a meditation session, and a food workshop by a vegetarian chef who will be showing kids how to make healthy snacks on a budget.
One of the biggest features at Creative Kids Fair is Black Book Sessions, a 501(c) 3 mobile creative group dedicated to promoting a positive educational forum through live art demonstrations, handson workshops.
