Vegan Veggie Patties . Cooking vegan has been a part of my life since watching my older brother cook for us breakfast, especially on the weekends. I can still remember before vegans were vegan and we were just labeled vegetarian. He would cook a breakfast, stir fry potatoes with tofu and mushrooms with a side of grits. My mother would always be throwing down, mostly dinner. She'd cook some super healthy peanut butter gravy with rice type dishes. I decided to keep strong on my vegetarian diet and turned vegan after high school. Most people had no clue what the term vegan actually meant nor what the diet truly consisted of. I graduated high school in 2006, and now in 2017 the term is being brought out the closet. Health as well as how we age healthy is being put to test. Now people are more curious as their diets are at risk day to day, some are in dire need of a diet change to save their lives. For years I have been providing the area of Leimert Park and South Los Angeles with vegan options, walking around and setting up in front of the local businesses. I helped start the Art Walk so that the area would attract more people and I would get more business. I created Baba's Vegan Cafe soon as I became skilled enough to own my own business.
