Baba's Vegan Cafe Pop Up in Leimert ParkUncleimani /pharcyde | FacebookIt is important to me to have a space where people can come and congregate. We come out to Leimert Park every Sunday 3pm -8pm to provide a healthy vegan alternative for our community. It is a great cultural community in Los Angeles where you can shop with local artists. We welcome you and your family to our drum circle and festival. #pattyman This is my cousin Imani, coming from the LAX supporting and spending time, my brother Tafarai Bayne, and my mother Imani Afi, who has been African dancing and drumming in Leimert Park since I was a little one.

" Low End Theory has often played the role of L.A.'s sole hip-hop night, but beats there generally take precedence over lyrics. Recently, Bananas has emerged as L.A.'s best unadulterated rap night. Hosted by venerated L.A. indie rapper VerBS and rapper-producer K. Solar, Bananas is held on the third Tuesday of every month at Kaos Network, a small performing arts center founded by L.A. filmmaker Ben Caldwell. Located in the heart of Leimert Park, the same neighborhood where storied open-mic nights at the Good Life Café took place, the venue is usually packed wall-to-wall with a lively and eclectic mix of friends, fans and performers. It gets hot inside, but you can step out to cool off anytime. Like Project Blowed before it, the monthly is both a breeding ground and a sanctuary, featuring performances from rising rappers such as Hugh Augustine and established acts like Nocando. Earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar stopped by. You probably should, too. " -LA Weekly By far one of the most unique events in the city for Hip-Hop heads, indie and alternative punks and more. Bananas is an event that happens at a former legendary proving ground in Los Angeles. Every 3rd Tuesday we're preserving culture, and providing a space for talented individuals to perform and reach a new crowd. This is where the real fans are. This party overflows onto the street due to the venue being packed, but you can still catch a ton of action on the block party side of things, with multiple freestyling ciphers, an open mic inbetween each set, live djs and producers pumping out beats, bands, photographers, emcees, vocalists, artists and more. There's no reason why you're *NOT* at this amazing gathering that only happens once a month. |
